Massalia creoles are an essential part of the Jour de Mistral collection. These earrings are freely inspired by the jewelry-making tradition of Marseilles. In the past, it was customary for young girls to be given gold pearls for each milestone in their lives, and these were then mounted as bracelets or necklaces when they came of age, making them the jewels of a lifetime. And Massilia is the Greek name for the city of Marseille.
Today, Mélanie, the designer, adapts this tradition in a very contemporary version of earrings. The new creole earrings feature a gold hoop on which golden pearls are mounted.
